Boom Times - Memory drawings from the prior millenium (01)

Marker on paper.
Back in 1997, nothing could go wrong. Or so they said. They said a lot of things. I kept busy with the notepad, & fat black sharpie markers.

The Fifty Pound Bass

Mixed media on red rosin paper, approximately 36 × 42, 2007.
They say there's a fifty pound bass on the loose. Who could believe it? But sure enough, I had it--almost! Don't worry anglers, I'll be making another visit to the bass hideout.

Jazz Fest 2005
One of the best jazz-fests ever. The day started out with heavy rain and incessant shout-outs that "the festival is open" - and indeed it was. The rain let off & diverse sounds filled the air.

Cheap Sunglasses. Ink on paper, 3"×5" c. 1994.

Memory Drawing of Lost Mardi Gras Monkey

On Mardi Gras day, one of the best throws I got was a little stuffed monkey. But I lost him somewhere in the French Quarter. All that remains is the memory, hence this memory drawing of the Lost Monkey.

Clean Ideas by Picabia

A portion of a notebook from 1990, in which I mentioned Picabia's phrase that "in order to have clean ideas, change them as often as you change your shirts."
