This is one in a series of Iris images that goes back over a period of many years. This image is related to Electric Iris 2010 and Reconstituted Nuclear Irises.
There are also a number of Iris paintings and drawings, for example, Magnetic Cartesian Irises, a small drawing made on a magnetic backing for easy attachment to steel surfaces; one of a series of four magnetic drawings.
The series was developed further with Cartesian Irises #3, an oil painting on linen on board.
